Evening time in the mountains of northern Arizona: Time to wander out onto the Coconino National Forest near Flagstaff for some quality time.
Out some forest roads that I know are seldom traveled most of the time. Onto an easy to find but also easy to miss little spur road off the main road, through some Ponderosa pine forest and out onto a little ridge with a great view of the San Francisco Peaks. Relax and listen to the breeze through the pine trees, while the sun slides lower toward the mountain horizon.
When the sun has dipped below the horizon, it's the heart of the Golden Hour. The clouds light up, and I go to work. So to speak.
