Hither Creek, Madaket, Early Evening on Nantucket Island
On a warm summer evening on the island, we walked from the public pier west toward the sunset. On the bridge across Hither Creek we looked east, back the way we'd come. The lowering summer sun reflected brightly off the hulls of all the white boats in the harbor, and off the salt water on which they gently bobbed in the breeze.
