This photograph of the Heceta Head Light on Oregon's southern coast was made in 1987. By climbing up on the hill behind the lighthouse, I was able to include the sweeping view of the rugged southern Oregon coastline, where the mountains of the Coast Range come straight out of the Pacific Ocean.
Heceta Head Lighthouse remains one of my very favorite lighthouses, anywhere.
Photo location: Heceta Head Lighthouse State Scenic Viewpoint, near Florence, Oregon.
