It was December, high up near the summit of the Quehanna Wild Area in northwest Pennsylvania. Not much snow at that time, the mountain headwater creeks running full and clear.
The little waterfalls in one such stream captivate me. Rushing and tumbling over driftwood and moss covered sandstone boulders and rocks, the cold, clear waters are on their way down to the Sinnemahoning, the Susquehanna, and finally Chesapeake Bay.
